Recovery Waits On Mr. Attlee

London, Aug. 4. The British Government got out of the stock mar- ket this week, removing the official prop under Government securities, and share prices drop- ped in one of the market's most sensational breaks in years.

Conservative estimates figure the loss in market values on the London Exchange in little more than a week at more than $2,000,000,000. So severe was the break that: analysts speculated on the possibility that, minimum prices' would be imposed for all British Government securi- ties dealt on the exchange.

The effect of such action per hap would "freeze" the marketi in Goverment bonds for the time being.
