The Admiralty announces in its budget estimates for 1947-48 that the total number of naval officers, seamen, boys and Royal Marines will be reduced from the 1946- 47 maximum of 492,800 to 192,000 during the twelve months beginning April 1, *i* Coupled with reductions announced earlier this week by the War Office and Air Ministry, the Navy slash will bring an overall reduction of 2,430,000 in Britain's Land, Sea and Air Forces.
