Big Four Deputies Fail To Agree

London, Jan. 15.

The Big Four Foreign Ministers' special deputies -for Germany, at their second session at Lan- caster House, London, today failed to agree on the Australian proposal that the smaller Al- lied powers be more closely associated with their work in preparing the German peace set- tlement.

Three deputies those of Britain, the United States and France--reached an agreement on a compromise falling short of the Australian memorandum that all representatives of the 18 smaller powers should be present when! any one stated his case. This compromise was opposed at the end of the meeting by the So- viet deputy, who maintained that the Council

London, Jan. 15.

London's two big clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea, bat- tled for two hours on Arsenal's ground at Highbury this afternoon before more than 53,000 spectators, and it is still not known which club have the honour to receive Derby County in the next round of the F.A. Cup. Arsenal were the first to score through their cen- tre-forward, Rooke, nine minutes-from--time, only for Chelsea's centre-forward, Lawton, to equalise three minutes later. Neither team scored in the extra half hour's play. The sec- ond replay takes place on a neutral ground next week.
