The Chinese press in Chungking gives promin- ence to reports of Chinese successes in Chekiang, Kiangsi and Anhwei pro- vinces.

A Chinese field despatch from the Chekiang front states

that Japanese forces on the south bank of the Fuchun River entered Chu- chi city on the night of October 18.

In Kiangsi, Japanese forces at- tacked Fengsin, northwest of Nan- chang, on October 14 but after heavy fighting the Japanese with- drew on the afternoon of October 16.

In south Anhwei, Chinese units attacked Nanling which was clear- ed of Japanese troops by morning of October. 18 after severe fighting. Reuter.
