PLANS ADVANCE FOR SENDING CHILDREN TO DOMINIONS

London, To-day.

REPLYING TO QUESTIONS in the Commons yesterday about evacuating children to the Dominions, Mr. C. R. Attlee, Lord Privy Seal, said an inter-departmental com- mittee had been set up to consider offers from the Dominions, the United States and elsewhere for the re- ception of children overseas.

The committee had made its report and the Government had adopted it as a basis of approach to the Dominions Government. The report would be published forthwith.

Utmost Urgency

The Government considered the establishment of the necessary ma- chinery for operation of the scheme to be a matter of the utmost urgency.

Preliminary discussions had already taken place with representatives: of the Governments of the Dominions and "we have every confidence that the consent of those Governments and their complete co-operation will be forthcoming at an early date.” Reuter.

Aliens May Go To Canada

Canada has undertaken to receive aliens at present interned in Britain and prisoners of war, announced the Premier, Mr. Mackenzie King, yester- day.
