"The
London, To-day. Times" this morning states: We stand in great and instant peril but we have stood in like peril before and have fought on to victory. We are back in something like the situa- tion after the battles of Auster- litz and Jena, when à Continent united under the military domina- tion of an autocrat confronted this island. Conditions have been modifled against us by the advent of the new air weapon. On the other hand we possess not only the strong co-operation of Dr Empire grown to manhood but the promise of full assistance from the boundless resources of the United States. In this island the immediate future of hardship, desolation and loss is inescapable. When these things have been en- dured it is no less certain that Hitlerism will come to its Water- loo.-Reuter.
