U.S. SUPPORT FOR BOMBING BAN

(SPECIAL TO "CHINA MAIL"). Washington, To-day. President Roosevelt expressed his readiness to support any international meeting destined to prevent the bomb- ing of civilian populations in a letter to the American Red Cross which is holding its annual congress.

He added that the United States al- ways led any movement for the aboli- tion of inhuman: practice and assured the Red Cross that he would continue to advocate adherence to the conven- tions protecting civilian populations.--- Havas.
