FORGED BANKNOTES CHARGE
Before Mr. H. G. Sheldon, K.C., in the Central Magistracy this morning, two Chinese were charged with being in possession of forged banknotes, of implements for forging banknotes, and of forged documents in Victoria on May 5.
Mr. D. McCallum represented the defendants, Lau Chik, 38, accountant, and Lau Che, 40, manager of the Wo Hing Hong, No. 23, Connaught Road Central,
against the accused
The charges
were:-
(A) Against the first accused, being in possession of 12 $1 notes purport- ing to be of the Hong Kong Govern- ment, at No. 203, Hennessy Road, and second accused, being in possession of 10 $10 notes of the Straits Settlements, one $10 note of the Bank of China and a $5 note of the same bank.
(B) At No. 46, Tang Lung Street, possession of 79 $10 notes of the Straits Settlements, 20 $5 notes of the Central Bank of China, and one five plastre note of the Banque Del Indo Chine.
(C) possession of 988 Indo China one dollar and forty-four cents bills of lading.
(D) possession of one copper plate and eight blocks of type for making forged banknotes.
(E) Possession of five copper plates for making forged Hong Kong Inland Revenue Stamps.
(F) Possession of 11 copper plates for making Japanese Military fifty yen banknotes.

ROBBERY IN KING'S PARK
A highway robbery in King's Park yesterday afternoon had its sequel this morning, before Mr. Q. A. A. Macfadyen at Kowloon when Kam Chun, 25, describing himself as an assistant hawker, was charged with robbery with violence of one gold finger-ring and $8 20 from Lai Kwan.
He was remanded for 24 hours as the police, it is understood, have ar- rested his three accomplices, who will be brought up to Court with him to-morrow.
