TO-MORROW'S RUGBY TOURNAMENT

FAVOURS ENGLAND

(By "SCRUM - HALF”)

Following are the teams:

IRELAND:-Mid. Roo (Navy); D. Hynes

Mid. Teare.į

(Club), B. C. Fay (Police), (Navy) and R. M. Lavalle (Club); Mid: and Sto. Gallagher O'Riordan (Navy)

Lt. (E) (Navy); P. F. Wanklyh (Club), Brown (Navy) (captain), Cullinan (Police, B. Hynes (Club), J. H. Thornhill (Club), B.

THE INTERNATIONAL Rugby Tournament this year will of necessity have to be left undecided as there are no available Saturdays left in which to play-off the postponed O'M. Deane (Club). Dempsey (Police) and final, but the winners of the England v. Scotland game to- morrow will obviously be unofficial champions due to their undoubted superiority over Ireland and Wales.

al Cause- To-morrw's programme way Bay will commence at 3 p.m. when Ireland meet Wales in what pro- mises to be a fairly even game.

Behind the serum neither side has an advantage on paper, but at for- ward the Irish should carry all before the tight them, having weight for serums, speed in the loose and three good men in King, Dempsey. and Wanklyn for the line-outs, Brown should be able to get the belter of Searle at hooking, and if he does not there is a good man in Cullinan to fall back on.

By virtue of their probable forward but Ireland should win, supremacy .there is unlikely to be much in it.

The game at 4.15 p.m. should pro- vide some thrills when England meet Scotland, last year's champions.

On paper England

appear to have the game already won, possessing a very fine back division and a stout set of forwards.

Scotland will miss the injured Duggle Stewart as their threequarter line, though likely to prove enough in defence, looks as if it will badly lack initiative.

and Walte

Tel. L/C.

(Navy), (Navy), Gnr. Evans (Army), Flt/Lt. Tay- lor (Navy), Mid, Murray-Jones L/Wtr. Barlow (Navy) and L/Wir. Ferris (Navy).

(cap- Stevens (Navy) ENGLAND:-Lt. soundtain); D. 1. Bosanquet (Club), J. C. Char. ter (Club), Tel, Paul (Club) and F. M. Thompson (Club); L. Carter (Navy) and E. C. Luscombe (Police); R. E. Heaseman Berry Hewitt (Army), Pte. (Club), Lt. (Army), E. A. Bompas (Club), C. F. Need- Ridsdale (Army). Innis ham (Club), Lt. (Police) and Wright-Nooth (Police).

SCOTLAND:-Taylor (Police); Spr. Bir- rell (Army), J. Hutchison (Club), C. G. Wilson (Police) and M. G. Carruthers and J. M. (Club); Lt. Douglas (Army) Thomson (Club); I. M. Macrae (Club), Cpl. Sutherland (Army), A. M. Kennedy (Club), 2/Lt. Cuthbertson (Army) (captain), 2/Lt. Millar (Army), 2/Lt. Pinkerton (Army). A." J. G. Taylor (Club) and G. B.

I am prepared to see Douglas and Thomson lead Carter and Luscombe a merry dance, but they will need to get the ball first, and I cannot see Hewitt often due to the being beaten very well-balanced scrum he has in sup- port. In the loose England should also more than hold their own.

Had I selected the Scotland team I would have had Henderson at full- back and Taylor either in place of Birrell on the wing or in the pack in place of Millar.
