A very keen and thrilling

ter took place in the Small Units' Rugby League on Wednesday between R.A.M.C. and Signals. The game was .evenly contested throughout and it was rather unfortunate that Major Curran of the Medicals' team had to leave the field through an injured leg before the game was 10 minutes in progress.

The absence of this Ane forward upset the balance of the Medicals team and did much to account for

their defeat by 6 points to nil. Willis opened the scoring for the Signals with a fine try just inside the dead line. The referee hesitated a few moments over his decision owing to the bad mark- ing of the dead line but he ruled that it was just inside and a awarded to Signals.

Both sides exerted greater pressure after this and Lt. Coombes almost got right through with a fine burst but was brought down just in time. Minney was also putting in some good work for the Medicals but did not seem to be backed up sufficiently at the critical moments.

Saigon Meet Federation In Last Game Of Series

I/Cpl. Bedford of the Signals, who played a fine game throughout, was responsible for the second try, just managing to get onto the ball in time after a dribble over the line by the forwards.

BEST for Signals were Willis, Morgan and L/Cpl. Bedford although everyone played well and they seem- ed the fitter team. The inexperienced must learn not to pick the ball out of the pack however. There is trouble in that direction. Medicals were best served by Minnay, Lt. Coombes, Chandler, MacDonald and Wybroe. The latter got a nasty jolt during the second half but hung on grimly till the end.

.As Signals won this game by 0 points to nil they combine with the 24th Bty. R.A. and the Medicals in having won one game each. R.A.S.C. have yet to play a fixture but will commence with a match against the Medicals on Sunday:

Two Rugby matches are on to-day's sports programme, and both will be played at Sookunpoo, the junior game starting at 3 pm, and the senior game at 4.15 p.m..

Police have Wall and Luscombe back in their side following injuries, and Army are giving Easterbrook, who showed promise in the Army "A" side last Saturday, a trial at full-back, while Coombe, another to impress last Saturday, will be at centre-three- quarter.

It should be a close game and Army will probably just win.
