POLISH WAR AIMS DEFINED
(SPECIAL TO "CHINA MAIL")

A PROCLAMATION WAS issued by the Polish Gov-
ernment yesterday outlining Polish war aims. These are given as the liberation of Polish territory and the demarcation of such frontiers as would guarantee the future security of Poland and Europe generally;

The proclamation states German aggression is partly due to the frequent disputes between the Slay states.
It concludes by emphasising the Polish Government's loyalty to the Allies both in warfare and the esta- blishment of future peace.
FAILS TO APPEAR

Fines totalling $40 were this morn- ing imposed by Mr. Q. A. A. Macfad- yen on Mr. L. R. Brown, of No. 5, La Salle Road, for driving a car with no front lights on two occasions on November 16 (at 8.50 p.m. and at 10.10 p.m.) in Nathan Road and in Salisbury Road, failing to keep to the left, to obey a traffic signal or to stop when signalled.
Despite the non-appearance in Court of Mr. Brown, who was not represented, the Magistrate decided to hear the case, which was adjourn- ed from last week.

DIAMOND RING LOST
The wife of Lieut.-Commander de Chair, of No. 122, the Peak, lost a diamond ring at about 1.30 a.m. yes- terday, between the Star Ferry taxi car park and Chater Road.
BANISHEE'S ASSERTION
"I was born in Hong Kong," said a young banishee, Chu Sam, 17, when charged before Mr. Q. A. A. Mac- fadyen this morning.
It was stated that the youth was banished last September for ten years. This was his second return.
Sentencing accused to six months' hard labour, Mr. Macfadyen promised to bring up the matter for re-investi-: gation.
