the authorities concèrned it seems likely after all that there may one or two Army players in the terport side which is due to go to Shanghal during the Chinese New Year.
As matters are at present the In-
terport side is not likely to be too strong as apparently no Chinese players will be making the trip, and
I should think H. K. F. A. will take full adyantage of the chance of select- ing a couple or three Army players.

Sappers' Fine Form
THE Royal Engineers are having a great time in the cricket world this season, and it takes a really good side to extend them and make a game of it when they have their full side out.
a formidable
They were already combination last season, and this year, with one or two additions including Captain Grose, they are well nigh un- beatable.
Sgt. Denyer has been in great form with both the bat and the ball, his bowling efforts being particularly fine. Denyer does not look a par- ticularly fearsome bowler to the man at the crease, but the latter is lulled rings round himself into making by the fine length and consistency of Denyer.
Sapper Ratcliffe is another "old faithful" of the present side and us- ually goes in early in the innings, quite often opening. He has 'not had a lot of luck with the bat this year but has done fairly well with the ball, his best performance easily being against the C.B.S. on Wednes- day when his aggregate was six for At one time he had taken 6 for 6 but a stand by the other side rather spoiled what might have been a sen- sational average.
