Reuter cables an official denial of ultimatum rumour stories, but it is noteworthy that German disclaimers of any intention to violate Holland's neutrality are accompanied by charges that Dutch neutrality is not sufficiently strong.

Hitler's intentions, however, can only be surmised. The real German plan is known only to the German Chancellor and his very close military advisers.

TELEPHONES CUT OFF IN HOLLAND

Amsterdam, To-day. On Saturday night, tele- phone communications in many parts of Holland were suspended, owing to "mili- tary activity."

The Air Ministry, in a refer- ence to the report that a German aircraft attempted to bomb a French Channel steamer, states that an aeroplane, apparently un- certain of its position owing to lowlying clouds, descended and flew over a prohibited area at Boulogne.
