extreme disquiet.
London, To-day.
Anxiety felt in the Netherlands is reflected in the AN ERROR
haste with which the Foreign Minister conferred with the Belgian Foreign Minister on receipt of the Anglo-French replies to the peace appeal, and to the extreme reserve of the newspapers, explained by determination to avoid any pretext of provocation.
Reuter cables an official denial of ultimatum rumour stories, but it is noteworthy that German disclaimers of any intention to violate Holland's neutrality are accompanied by charges that Dutch neutrality is not sufficiently strong.
Hitler's intentions, however, can only be surmised. The real German plan is known only to the German Chancellor and his very close military advisers.

French anti-aircraft guns open- ed fire and shell splinters falling in the water gave rose to the report of bombing. Actually no bombs were dropped-Reuter.
