"H. D'a" match provided an excel- lent brand of tennis. The former, lo- cal champion was in excellent forin and reproduced all the fine strokes with his encounter which marked Sangh on Monday.
However, he was made to go all the way. In the second set he led 4-2 but realising that if match were allowed to go to the final set there would probably be a repeti- tion of Monday's encounter, the IR.C. player threw all his reserves into the fray to win the next four games in a row for the set and the match.

A rather unusual incident has arlsen from the semi-final lawn bowls pairs tle between H. Nish and T. Robson, and J. Gibson and W. V. Flold.
It will be recalled that on Tues- day, when the K.B.G.C. pair were leading 20-16 on the 20th, head, rain caused play to be abandon- ed.
Reluctant to make the trip to the Valley, with all the resultant bother of transporting woods, the Your players, all of whom are ro- sident in Kowloon, arranged to play the remaining head at K.F.C. the following day.
V. Chittenden, however, who la bowla convener of Kowloon Foot- ball Club, besides being a mein- ber of the special competitions committee of H.K.L.B.A., ruled that this action was not permis. sable and that the match MUST be concluded at Civil Service.
It is understood that this will! be done within the week.
jahn was forced to take a brief rest. went Returning to the fray, he continued pluckily but lost the set and down in the second set, still struggling hard, by 6-1.

"C" DIVISION MATCH
LAWN BOWLB CHAMPIONSHIP
RIBEIRO AND ALVES IN PAIRS FINAL
In a closely contested game, H. A. Alves and F. V. V. Ribeiro qualified for the Final of the Open Singles Lawn Bowls Championship when they defeated their club mates L. Silva and J. F. V. Ribeiro by 19-17 at the Kowloon Football Club yester- day.
J. Ribeiro was the outstanding player of the teams and he sent down many good goods while H. Alves was also good.
The losers scored first with a single and led for the greater part of the game, in fact till the 19th, when the winners aided by a four took the lead at 18-16.
and
At the seventh head Ribeiro Silva were leading 6-4 and on the next scored a three to give them a greater lead, but Alves and Riberio reduced that lead by obtaining four shots in the next three heads.
A three on the 12th head placed the losers in the lead again by four shots but a three by Alves and Riberio en- abled them to tie the score at the 16th head.

By the 18th head the winners were being led 16-14 but they registered a
to give them the lead for the first four through good bowling by Alves time.
The 20th head was exciting, Ribeiro and Silva, who were being led by one shot were lying four shots, but F. Ribeiro did well to save with the second shot to leave them only one..
S. A. Rumjahn, like his cousin, also appeared to doubt his ability to last more than two sets and he staked all, In the opening stages, in a determined effort to sweep his opponent off court. Storming the net at every op- portunity, he thrilled the gallery with

BRADBURY TO
MEET U.M. OMAR TODAY
Interesting bowla should be wit. nessed at the Civil Service Cricket Club thle afternoon when B. W.

U. M. Omar, a past champion, clash in the Third Round of the Open 8in- gles Lawn Bowls Championship. Both players have been chosen to represent the Colony in the coming Bowls Interport series and have boon playing skip in all League games this season.
Another interesting game should be that between A. W. Grimmitt, another past champion, and A. M. Omar at the Kowloon Football Club, Grimmitț is the steadier and more experienced player. Omar is apt to be inconsis- tent but if he happens to be on form should give, Grimmitt-a-good game
