Reich Army Chief On Preparedness
Dusseldorf, To-day.
"THE best worker of the world has forged the best
arms in the world for the world's best soldier," declared Colonel-General von Brauchitsch, Commander-in-Chief of the German Army, in an address delivered before the workers of the Rheinmetal works in Dusseldorf, after an in- spection of the works where modern mine- throwers and guns for German warships are made.
The speech was broadcast and relayed by the Ger-
man radio stations to enable the workers of“ all armament factories throughout the Reich to hear the address simultaneously.
Von Brauchitsch emphasized in his address that complete solidarity ex- ists between the soldiers of the German Army and the armament workers, whose work was just as important as that of the front-line soldier.
"SUPREME CONFIDENCE” With reference to the internation- al situation, von Brauchitsch de- clared that Germany could afford to look forward to the future with supreme confidence.
"Knowledge of our strength per- mits us to continue our work calm- ly."
"We do not find it necessary to go about hawking to enlist the ser- vices of other nations so that may send them into battle in own interests," declared von Brau- chitsch.

The frequency of such cases, which strikes at the very root of the pure administration of justice, is due not wholly to Police con- stables, but also to the readiness: which Chinese offer bribes.

As Commander-in-Chief of the German Army and as one of the closest collaborators of the Fuch- rer, I can most solemnly assure you of one thing, however:-
"The Fuehrer will never risk light-heartedly a German man!. If the Fuehrer should ever demand from us the last and supreme sacri- ffice, we may be sure that there was no other course open to him and that the preservation of our na tional existence absolutely demand-
