SPAIN RESENTS VISITORS
German And Italian Technicans
Every week that passes since the end of the Spanish civil war sees a growing restlessness in Spain at the presence in the country of German and Italian technicians and other visitors.
The upper classes and Government circles are apparently ardently pro-Axis, but the rank and file are no longer very enthusiastic over their erstwhile .allies.
Of the two they prefer the Germans, mainly be- cause the Germans have throughout the war been scrupulously unobtrusive. The Italians, on the other hand, have adopted a line of behaviour cal- culated to irritate far less susceptible people than the Spaniards.
