POLAND SEEKS BRITISH MILITARY GUARANTEE FOR LITHUANIA

London, To-day.

The Polish Foreign Minister, Col. Joseph Beck, is reported in usually well-informed circles to have drawn the attention of the British Am- bassador in Warsaw, Sir Howard Kennard, to the recent conversations between Poland and Lithuania.

Col. Beck is said to have stressed that Poland would

welcome a British guarantee for Lithuania.

Col. Beck is reported to have stated that Lithuania is the only Baltic State without a common frontier with the Soviet, so that a guarantee of Lithuanian indepen- dence by Moscow might present difficulties.

It is believed that the Polish military expert, General Rasprzycki, will arrive here for discussions with the British military authori- ties at the end of next week.
