GIBBONS SCORES CENTURY IN EACH INNINGS; BOTH TIMES NOT OUT

London, To-day.-Worcestershire returned one of their finest performances in the County Cricket Championship when they de- feated Hampshire by 6 wickets on their own ground.

For this fine result they have chiefly to thank Gibbons for per- forming the rare feat of making a century in each innings. Added merit of this accomplishment is the fact that he was undefeated on both occasions.

LARGE UNITS CRICKET FINAL RESTARTED

After several postponements due to rain, the final of the Large Units' cricket competition between Royal Artillery and Royal Engineers was restarted yesterday and will be played to a finish continuing to-day and being continued to- morrow if necessory.

Tom Goddard, who toured South Africa in the close season, appears to have benefited considerably by his trip abroad. He added further' to his laurels of this season by some magnificent bowling against Middlesex at Headquarters, taking 11 for 151 in the course of the match to enable Gloucester to win by 3 wickets.

Thanks to a brilliant double- century by B. H. Valentine, Kent scored an easy

win over Notts, while fine batting by Harry Parks and James Langridge enabled Sus- sex to beat Glamorgan by 79 runs.
