U.S. WRITER SAYS:
BRITAIN'S ENVOY "PRO-NAZI"
Bitter criticism of the British Am- bassador in Berlin (Sir Nevile Hen- derson), is a feature of the book "My Years in Germany," by Martha Dodd, daughter of a former United States Ambassador to Germany, Mr. W. E. Dodd.
The author says:-
"Sir Nevile Henderson did not Nazi hide his fondness for the leaders. On the contrary, in conver- sation with other diplomats, he ad- mired their forceful handling of the European situation and even ex- pressed the view that Austria should be annexed long before the German plan was made.
"The Austrian Minister was so insulted that he complained to his to which protested Government, Britain, resulting in Sir Nevile Hen- derson being called home and re- primanded. It did not cure him.
"Even Sir Nevile Henderson's staff
talked bitterly about him. Nevertheless he continued serene- ly."
