ITALIAN DIPLOMAT ACCUSED OF WIFE'S MURDER

Bangkok, To-day.

The arrest of Dr. Ettore Grande, First Secretary to the Italian Legation in Bangkok, on the charge of having murdered his wife, has created a sensa÷ tion here.

The arrested diplomat is the son of the well-known Italian University Professor. Stefano Grande at Turin.

When on leave last year he married Signorina Vincenza Virasso, daughter of a wealthy Turin family.

Shortly after the wedding, the young wife lost her life during a hunting trip, the Sla- mese authorities officially de- scribing it as an accident.

The bride's family was, how- ever, suspicious and caused a post-mortem-examination to be. made, when the body arrived at Turin. The police doctor sug- gested crime; whereupon Dr. Grande was arrested in Rome. Although he pleads not guilty and states that his dearly be loved wife died as result of an accident, the authorities re-. fuse to release him. Trans- Ocean.
