Mr. D. R. Grenfell (Labour) declared in the House of Commons yesterday afternoon that it was a day of humiliation and shame for Britain. We had allowed the truth to set and had allowed violence to take the place of reason and jus- tice, and violence had triumphed.

Mr. Chamberlain in his simplicity of mind believed the undertakings at Munich were given in good faith. The Premier had said so. Czecho-Slovakia had now been occupied in the same manner as it would have been occupied had there been no Munich.
