Britain's Tune Will Change When War Magazines Are Full

SIGNOR GAYDA ON BRITISH REARMAMENT

Rome, To-day. "Everything proves that the democracies are head- ing rapidly for war, declares Signor Gayda, writing in the Voce D'Italia."

He adds that their "furious" re-armament is losing its defensive character and assuming an openly offensive one..

There has been, fast-moving transformation from

Mr. Chamberlain's formula for peace by nego tiation to the formula of peace by intimidation

We can be certain that in a few months, when their war maga- zines are filled, the British tone will harmonise even less with the pipes of peace.

There remains nothing for Italy but to provide armaments.

PLANNING ANOTHER. ELE.

Rome, To-day, Armament expenditures which reach the huge, figure of £161 mil- lions for the Army and $149 millions for the Navy can have no other ex- planation than that English is plan- ning to send an expeditionary Force to the European Continent, writes Gayda of the "Giornale D'italia”” on Sunday in an article entitled: “War Policy and the Democracies."

The great Democracies are rush- ing with undue haste into war, he declares, and their armaments have a distinctly offensive character.

"One may be sure," he states, "that within a few months, when the magazine is full, Great Britain will change her tune and will assumis one that will scarcely harmonize with the melodic flate of peace”

For this reason, actions in Eng- land must be looked upon with dis- trust. rans-Ocean.

WRECK OF PLANE IDENTIFIED

Nico, To-day.

The wrecked plane, which was found on the ice-clad Alps near Nice on Saturday has definitely been identified as a German civil machine which was on the service between Berlin and Barcelona, via Rome, and the Balearic. Is- tands, and was apparently an air- liner which disappeared while fly- ing from Majorca to Italy Jast week-end?

All 10 bodies found were those of civil aircraft- officers. There Reuter, were no women aboard.
