Dramatic Story Of
General Miller's End UEENS
In Mme. Skobline Trial
Paris, To-day. The allegation that the Ogpu, the dreaded Soviet secret police, had a political commissar work- ing for them in Paris before 1936 as a taxi- driver, was read at the resumed hearing yester- day of the case against Madame Skobline. Madame Skobline, wife of a White Russian emigre general in Paris, is the centre figure in the case relating to disappearance of General Miller, a brother-officer, last year.
NAZIS ARE HELPING JAPAN -SIR A. WILLERT
London, Nov. 30.
The belief that Germany is supporting Japan in her present China campaign, was openly voiced here to-day by Sir Ar thur Willert, former chief of the foreign Office Prèss Bureau.
He made this declaration in the course of a speech deliver- ed at the Royal United Ser- vices Institution, when he as- serted, "The Germans are de- liberately encouraging the Ja- 'panese in order to make it more difficult for us to resist them." -Havas.
TENSION IN TUNIS
Rome, Today.
The statement read yesterday was contained in translations from Russian documents found in Mme. Skobline's possession.
They also referred to an alleged pacifist organisation dependent-on- the Comintern, which is stated had cells in the Renault and Cil- troen factories.
The translations were read by Maitre Ribet, who is appearing. for Mme. Miller and General Miller's brothers.
"C.D." ON CAR
Earlier the prosecution had call- ed witnesses to support the allega- tion that General Miller, dead...or alive, had been taken to Havre in a motorcar
initials bearing the "C.D.", showing that it belonged to a member of the Diplomatic Corps. General Miller, it is alleged, was then put on board the Soviet steamer "Maria Ivanova," which sailed the day after his disappear-
ance.
