THE STORM
BRUSSELS, TO-DAY. THE CABINET CRISIS WHICH WAS THREATENED OWING TO THE SOCIALIST RESOLUTION REJECTING THE ESTABLISH- MENT OF DIPLOMATİC RELA- TIONS WITH THE BURGOS GOV- ERNMENT, APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN AVOIDED AT LEAST FOR THE TIME BEING.
At a joint session, the Socialist Party Executive, Labour Union leaders and Parliamentary, Group of the Spcialist Party, adopted a resolution which declares that the resignation of the Socialist mem- bers of the Gabinet is not, desir- able at the present moment. The resolution upholds, however, the Socialist Partyla opposition to es tablishment of diplomatic rela- tions with the Burgos Govern- ment.
The right wing of the Catholic Party, on the other hand, issued a statement announcing that 'it: would continue to support the Government and that acceptance of the Socialist demanda regarding diplomatic relations with Burgos is impossible.
The Premier, M. Spaak, in the meantime has continued his .en- deavours to avoid a Cabinet crisis. that the Premier It is declared will seek to conclude a truce' till the end of the year, since he hopes he will be able to find a compromise solution which will allow the maintenance of the present coali- tion of the Socialists, Liberals and Catholics.-Trans-Ocean.
