Two drivers were killed and the third escaped when three Jewish lorries transporting vegetables from Syria were ambushed north of Acre. The lorries were after- wards burned.

Four Chinese were shot dead yesterday afternoon when a steam- launch was pirated between Canton and Fatshan.
The launch which plys between the two river. ports left Fatshan at 5.30 p.m. and when about half-way from Canton she was stopped by another boat and ten pirates boarded the launch.
Confusion: reigned among the passengers: and the crew decided to fight it out.
