James Bruen, the holder of the title, is at present lying seventh with an aggregate of 152, while Henry Cotton, the former British Open Champion, is second, three strokes behind Arthur Lees, who! has an aggregate of 146.

The British Boxing Board of Control has fined Benny Lynch, of Scotland, former holder of the world flyweight boxing title, £200 for failing to weigh in at 8 stone for his world titular bout against Jackie Jurich, of America, on Jame 29.
The Board also declared that Lynch has forfeited his British and the European flyweight titles, which are now regarded as vacant, Reuter.

U.S.R.C. TO HOLD
HARDCOURT CHAMPIONSHIPS Entries Close On August 22
The Hardcourt Tennis champion- ship of the Colony, organised by the United Services Recreation Club last year, and which proved so successful, will once again be a feature of the local tennis season. The Tennis Committee of the U.S.R.C., comprising Major T. F. Baines, Capt. S. Bates, Mr. G. E. R. Divett and Capt. C. L. Edwards, R.M., have decided to organise the tournament again.
It is announced that the cham- pionships will commence on August 29. Entry forms will be sent to the secretaries of every.club affiliated to the Hong Kong Lawn Tennis Association in due course.. Entries close on August 22..
It is understood that the prac- tice last year of allotting courts for one day to each club will not be followed this year; but applica- tions may be made by players to the U.S.R.C. for courts for prae- tice. All aplications must be made 48 hours before the courts are wanted.
