Voltaire, which is owned by Mr. W: H. S. Davis, was so severely injured while being ridden by Lieutenant Colson, in the Monte Han- dicap, that the pony had to be destroyed.
Mr. W. C. Choi, a new jockey-to- the South, successfully piloted Na- tional Triumph into third place, in the Ma Kau Siac Handicap.
Double Chance (Mr. Feilden) had no difficulty in securing first place in the first section of the Monte Handicap, over six furlongs, the favourite, Emergency Call tak- ing second place.
Miss Betty Fair again demon- strated her superiority over local lady riders by winning the Ladies' Sprint on Wenning, by three lengths.
