BOY ALIVE

New York, To-day. Hope has now been abandoned that James Cash, 512-year-old son of the wealthy Florida oil deal- er, and kidnapped on Saturday evening, will be returned alive.

On Saturday, it was revealed yesterday, the police arrested a spectator who was standing outside the Cash home and rushed him by car to Miami. Meanwhile, hundreds of farmers downed tools in response to a general call for volunteers to search for the missing boy.

The men, divided into groups of fifteen, were ordered by the Federal Inspector not to take arms.

They are to search all houses and buildings, and if admission is re- fused, they will post a guard and send a message to Headquarters.
