KIDDIES!
Wouldn't you feel it was a task that called for a brave man?
That brave man is Murray Kor- man, Broadway photographer. He inspected the beautiful 900,000 and - did it.
But he wouldn't place them in order of merit.
"Too dangerous," he said.
Now, how did Britain fare in this world beauty parade?
Very well.
Two London girls, Veronica Rabel and Joan Foreman, got into the supreme twelve.
And if you think Murray Kor- man's judgment was at fault, well, take a look at the pictures of Veronica and Joan on this page. And then think again!
Joan is a London mannequin, She has also appeared at the London Casino.
Veronica impressed Korman 8O much that pictures of her appear in every part of his studio.
CAMERA PREFERS BLONDES
Korman knows his business. He has probably seen, photographed or painted more beautiful girls than anyone else on earth.

Another English beauty
Joan Foreman, London ́ ́ mannequin.
She has appeared in the Paris Folies Bergere, at the London Casino, and
at the New York French Casino.
And what are the preferences of this arch-judge?
He likes blondes.
"They photograph better than brunettes," he said. "Blondes photo- graph much softer. They have better holding of the face, there are no shadows, no trouble at all." But photography apart, Korman has definite ideas about beauty.
"The first requisite,” he said, “is beauty of face and form. If a girl has good looks, half the battle is
won.
"Then again, hair. Never mind its colour: the texture is the thing that counts.
"Taking a survey of the whole world, I find that the most famous beauties equally numbered among blondes and brunettes. Red- heads run a close second."
aro
"At least 60 per cent. of ‘Ameri- can beauties," says Mr. Korman, "were
born in other countries. Chiefly in Britain and Canada."

Well, Francine Bordeaux was a Hollywood atar.
Now read on
Francine went into the witness- box at Hollywood's Law Courts.
And wailed out the strangest story Hollywood has heard for many a day.
Seems that when she was becom- ing a film atar, Francine decided that what she wanted was publi- city.
She signed a contract with two agents."

What mascara to put on her eye- lashes...
And even the kind of pencil she had to use to outline her eyebrows.
“Under this contract-Miss Bor- deaux's soul is not her own," thun- dered her lawyer..
"I don't want to be an oo-la-la girl," sniffed Francine, but I do think I ought to be free to run my own life.” i
The Judge agreed.. Hollywood's film star slave walk- ed out of court a free woman in
