FRANCE DISTURBED BY IL DUCE'S WRONG SIDE OF BARRICADE SPEECH
Paris, To-day.
Papers of all shades of political opinion here freely express the painful surprise caused in. French political circles by Mussolini's references to France in his Genoa speech. Disappointment at the Duce's utterances appears all the greater since it had been generally be- lieved that "normalisation" of relations be- tween Paris and Rome was now practically assured.
"Petit Parisien” ́observes that Mussolini's remarks concerning the Franco-Italian negotiations were quite unexpected and that it is clear that certain French proposals re- lating to Spain were considered un acceptable by the Duce.

Radical left wing papers demand the instant dissolution of the Ser- vice, whereas papers with connec tions with official quarters state that the Ministry will merely uphold the confiscation of the proclamation and warn the Germans that the "Ser- vice" must refrain from using mili- tary terms in its pronouncements.
