Rents Complaints May Be Sent To Colonial Secretariat

Following public complaints regarding the absence of any au- thority through which rents grievances could be brought to the at- tention of Government, the following notification was issued by the Colonial Secretariat this afternoon:

In the matter of the Report of the Rents Commission 1938: Notice is hereby given that for the purpose of obtaining data regarding recent demands for increase in the rentals of domestic premises, particulars in writing of any demands for such increases of which notice has been given since 23rd March, 1998; (1.e. the closing date, according to Part 1 paragraph 9 of the said Report, appointed by that Commission for receiving complaints) may be sent in to the Colonial Secretary.
