PRIME MINISTER INVITES LEAGUE COUNCIL TO RECOGNISE ROMAN EMPIRE

London, To-day.

The Prime Minister announced at question time in the House of Commons yesterday that Britain had requested the League of Nations to include in the agenda of the forthcoming Council meet- ing the question of the consequences arising from the situation in Abyssinia.

Sir Percy Harris (Labour, West Bethnal Green) asked whether that meant that Britain was go- ing to take the initiative in recognition of Ita- lian conquest of Abyssinia.

COMMUNAL RIOTS

Allahabad, To-day. Further rioting between Hindus and Moslems occurred yesterday, in which two were killed and six- teen injured.
