MACAO APRIL MEETING TO-MORROW
IMPORTANT ENCOUNTER
FOR TO-DAY
S. CHINA “B” MEET MIDDLESEX
小
Probably the most interesting match of the First Division League Football season will take place this afternoon, when South China "B", the present leaders and potential champions, encoun- ter the Middlesex Regt., at pre- sent lying second in the table, at Caroline Hill.
The Middlesex have a big task ahead of them to-day, and al- though they can claim to have some of the finest Army players in the Colony among their com- plement, they will be up against players who were good enough to represent South China against the Islington Corinthians cently.
re-
These include Tam Kwan-kon, probably the Colony's best custo- dian at the moment, Lim Tak-po, a fine centre-half, Tang Kwong-sum, right-winger, Ng Po-kui, inside ward, Lau
Chung-gang inside- sight, Chan Tak-fai centre-for- left and Lee Shek-yau out- side left, five representing South China last Wednesday against the Corinthians, in their return match.
This afternoon's match should be worth seeing, for with the fine wea- ther prevailing, play is likely to be very fast.
In the remaining encounters to- day, the much strengthened Club eleven should account for the Kow- Icon Chinese, while Eastern are favoured to beat Kowloon.

2ND DIVISION
TITLE IN THE BALANCE
MIDDLESEX OR 5TH A.A. BDE?
Both these ponies have been placed at previous meetings, the former in and the latter in The Sun Chun Handi- The Good Luck Handicap (7 furlongs) cap (six furlongs). In my estimation, Victory Life should win, with Fairy Ousel second and Hohenfels third.
RACE NO, 2: THE HANYANG PLATE: ONE MILE Six ponies of moderate ability will contest this event, as follows:-
Emergency Call, 158 lbs., (Mr. S. C. Liang); National Spirit, 161 lbs. (Mr. SE. Yuen); Persian Cat, 152 lbs. (Mr. C. L. Gregory); Shanghai 4, 146 lbs., (Mr. L.B. Chao): Stymie 152 Ibs. (Mr. A. W. Raymond); Wenning, 161 lbs., (Mr. K. I Ip):
National Spirit has done nothing. particularly worthy of note so far in its racing career, but in this race it should prove itself slightly superior to the cthers, unless Emergency Call reveals ts true form, in which event it will probably win. There is, however, Shanghai 4, the Champion Macao Sub. to be reckoned with, and knowing its capability, it could also win. My choice as winner is National Spirit, with Shanghai 4 second, and Emer- genry Call third'
RACE NO.3: THE WUCHANG HANDICAP SIX FURLONGS. Confined to "D" Class China Ponies of the Hongkong Jockey Club, it should be most interesting to watch, with the result hard to decide, especial- ly as there will probably be eight conies competing. Although given top weight, it looks to me that Election Time, which will be ridden by Mr. D. P. A. Spreckley, should prove itself faster than the others
Last Saturday at the Valley, carry- ing 168 lbs. It ran third over a much longer distance. National Force will be under the control of Mr. Chanson, and in view of its win in the second section of the Wong Nei Chung Stakes, it will no doubt give Election Time a good rum for first position. Gola Sovereign (Mr. S. C. Liang) is also dangerous, but in my view, Election Time should win, with National Force second and Gold Sovereign Third
