MR. B. A. PROULX THROWN

New Australian Pony Refuses Jockey

During the course of this morn- ing's training, Mr. B. A. Proulx was thrown by Cape York, a new Aus- tralian pony belonging to Mr. S. T. Chau.

Mr. Proulx took the pony out for a trial gallop, and the accident oc- curred near the five furlongs post.

At first it appeared as if Mr. Proulx had hurt himself, failed to move for a short while,. but he then got up and walked back to the six furlongs post, where the pony was caught. He remounted. and endeavoured to continue with his intended gallop, but the pony refused to move and so had to be taken back to the stables.

Mr. Proulx was not seen out again during the morning.

SHIELD SOCCER COMPETITION DRAW MADE FOR THIRD ROUND

The draw for the Third Round of the Shield Competitions was made at the meeting of the Manage- ment Committee of the Hong Kong Football Association last night and resulted as follows:-

The Hong Kong Hockey Club will meet a team from the United Hockey Tournament to-day on the Club ground, King's Park, at 4.45 p.m.
