FLAMBOYANT RAID CLAIMS
Shanghai, Yesterday.
An official report published here yesterday in connection with the latest Japanese air raid on Han- kow and Wuchang, contains the usual flamboyant claims.
The Japanese allege that two hangars and fourteen planes were destroyed, and that Chinese planes did not take off to attack the raiders.
The Japanese also claim that in the previous Hankow raid, they destroyed 23 Chinese bombers and shot down four Chinese machines in an aerial battle.—Trans-Ocean.
Members of All Saints' Chinese Church, led by the Pastor himself visit the areas a night or two be- fore and distribute a book of tic- kets chiefly to those sleeping on the... streets and absolutely destitute. The tickets have to be presented before the rice is given. Between $400 and $500 has already been given by the public and we earnestly hope that enough will be subscribed to continue the scheme until the end of the winter months. It costs a little less than $50 to feed a hundred Chinese every day for a week.
