The annual congress of the China Study Society, now going on here, is featured by two important lectures on China which have attracted much in- terest in the press.

First lecture, which was in the form of an analysis of the present campaign in China from the economic and financial angle, was delivered by the President of the society, Dr. Hans Schippel.
