Customs Cruiser Never Left British Waters

That the Chinese Maritime Customs cruiser "Cha Hsing", which was "captured" by a Japanese gun-boat of the 23rd Flotilla on Saturday, was in the British waters and only half a mile from the shores of British territory when the incident oc- curred, was the statement made by the Commis- sioner of the Chinese Maritime Customs (Kowloon and Districts), Mr. A. It was also revealed that one shell- from the Japanese warship glanced off the hull of the customs, cruiser, and made a dent on side of the vessel

Mr. Forbes stated that he also learned that one shell damaged salt godown, but no one jured.
