PAGEANTRY
London, To-day.
A pageant of Empire pro duce and trade was the cen- tral feature in the annual Lord Mayor's Show which was witnessed by immense crowds in sauny weather yesterday.
The pageant consisted of tableaux illustrating the main branches of the Empire's resources.
To impress upon the man-in the street the importance of agriculture in England and Wales, nine tableaux portrayed various aspects of this industry.
One car represented next year's Empire Exhibition at Glasgow, the biggest affair of its kind since the Wembley Exhibition in 1924.
Sixteen bands of the regular and auxiliary Forces preceded "Sir Harry Twyford, the new Lord Mayor, who rode in his
ancient state chariot, while the
Guilds were represented by their respective quaintly styled officers Renter.
