The Open Rinks Final, the se cond event of the HKLBA's championships to reach that stage, will be played at Club de Recreio this afternoon and promises to be a good game with thrills in plenty.

The finalists are:-J. Watson, C. B. Hosking, R. G. Craig and A. Hyde-Lay, and J. R. Soares, J. W. Leonard, L. C. R. Souza and C. S. Rosselet.

Rosselet's four had the more dif-| ficult course to the Final Round, and had, especially tough proposi tions in the last two rounds. How well he overcame the last obstacle, the redoubtable Omar rink, is fresh in the memory of lawn bowlers. The Indians collapsed badly halfway through the game when they held a small lead.

Baron Gottfried von Cramm and Henner Henkel, the German Davis Cup doubles pair, are seen in the above picture to the left of the net, being congratu- lated by L. Hecht and H. Caska, of Czechoslovakia, after their Davis Cup European Zone Final at Berlin.

MIDDLESEX ONLY MANAGE FIRST INNINGS POINTS

London, To-day.

Yorkshire crept a step nearer Middlesex in the race for County 24-23 Cricket Championship honours, when they beat Worcestershire by an innings and 9 runs at Bradford, while Middlesex, who are on top 22-19 of the table at the moment, only managed to secure first innings points from Warwick, H. G. Owen Smith being conspicuous with 6 29-13 for 68 to dismiss the Warwickians for 160 runs.

22-10

Kent staged a fine recovery against Somerset at Dover and after falling for 134 in their first knock (Wellard 7 for 62), when 23-22 they were 212 runs behind their opponents, Woolley (193) and Todd (114) helped them compile 427 for 8 wickets, Somerset being skit- tled out for 130 runs in their second venture.
