Y.M.C.A. SWIMMING GALA ON JUNE 12
ONLY THREE FIRST DIVISION BOWLS MATCHES
Recreio Favoured Against K.B.G.C. AN INTERESTING JUNIOR CARD
There will be only three First Division Lawn Bowl's League matches down for decision to-day, weather permitting, as Kowloon Dock have obtained a postponement in their encounter against the Civil Service Cricket Club, due to the fact that they are unable to raise a team for various reasons.
Recreio are at home to the Kow- loon Bowling Green Club, and a very close encounter should be wit- nessed. The Portuguese have been very lucky lately, having won their last encounter against the Kowloon Cricket Club through no fault of their own. This afternoon, al-

SECOND ROUND DRAW OF OPEN
though they will be playing against PAIRS TOURNEY
a much weaker team than has hitherto represented the Austin Road Club, they will have to be on their mettle to win.
The Footballers are at home to Craigengower, who should win on all three rinks.
CLOSE MATCH
The best match in the Second Division is that between the K.B.G.C. and Recreio, the holders, the former, having lost badly to Crai- gengower the week before last. The Portuguese are a good combination and are at present lying third in the table together with their op- ponents, although they have a bet- ter average on shots.

TWO EVENTS FOR C.B.S.
(By "CRAWL")
HE European Y.M.C.A. Swimming Section will open their summer competitive programme with a night gala on Saturday, June 12, commenc- ing at 9 p.m., with a programme of eight events including a water-polo match against the Royal Corps of Signals. The only two serious events on the programme will be the Men's and Ladies' 50 Yards Aggregate Handicap events.
Ä MEETING OF THE SWIMMING COMMITTEE WAS HELD YESTERDAY EVENING AT THE Y.M.C.A. WHEN MR. W. JA ASHTON PRESIDED AND WAS SUPPORTED BY W. F. KERR (SWIMMING CAPTAIN), R. GOLDMAN (ACTING HON. SECRE- WERE NO TARY), W. J. COX, AND R. B. WOOD. THERE MEMBERS OF THE LADIES' SWIMMING SECTION PRESENT.
It was decided to stage a water-polo match and to field as strong a team as possible, although the Section are unlucky to have lost many of their members during the off season. The Royal Corps. of Signals were invited to provide the opposition, and I understand they are able to field a fairly good side including two very useful members in F. C. Ashford, who is reputed to have played for the Army at home, and F. Hudson.

the away with points, having lost to the same team last year by a margin of 9 shots.
The Yacht Club, present leaders in the Third Division, should beat -the Footballers, while in the only other interesting tie here, Civil Ser. vants should beat Recreio.
