AVERY uninteresting football match was wit-

nessed at Caroline Hill yesterday afternoon, when the Hong Kong Football Association eleven defeated the visiting East China eleven by six clear goals after a half-time lead of four goals. The local team were all over their opponents and could have scored at will, but slackened down con- siderably in the second when the Chinese team threw away three open goals.

INDIVIDUALLY, THERE WAS LITTLE WRONG WITH THE TEAM, EXCEPT THAT THEY TOOK THINGS MUCH TOO THE EASYLY IN SPITE OF THEIR SUBSTANTIAL LEAD. FORWARDS TRIED TO WALK THE BALL INTO THE NET AND THE VISITORS WERE MADE TO LOOK RIDICULOUS BY THE SHORT PASSING OF THE ASSOCIATION FORWARDS IN THE PENALTY AREA.
