London, August .15. JACK LOVELÓCK'S wonderful victory in the

1,500 metres at Berlin was a triumph for his theory and belief that a man can run only one race each season at his very best. And this was the race in which he chose to make his supreme effort.
His only fear Lovelock timed his preparation perfectly.
His medical studies! was that he might have started too late. prevented him doing much training during the early stages of the season, but once he started his preparation he carried it through with remarkable thoroughness.
Some idea of his methods can be gained by recalling that some two months ago it was suggested to him that he would win a particular race.. "I may do," he said, "but I do not want to do anything better than a 4.30 míle.”
