The independent Government in Kwangsi will be set up to- day in Nanning, the provincial capital,, with General Li Chang-jen or General Li Chai-sum as Chairman. Actual military power is in the hands of General Pai Hsung-hsi, who engineered the pre- sent movement.
Kwangsi riff-raffs are reported to have reached Tushing in} Western Kwangtung, and many shops and homes have been lool- ed by the vanguard.
About 13 Nanking divisions are entering Kwangtung from the north and east for the protection of the province. The de- fence has been strengthened by the arrival of three squadrons of Nanking bombers.
