A large number of race-goers attended the call-over at the local Victoria Club yesterday for the Twelfth Extra Race Meeting of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, to be "held at Happy Valley on Saturday. The final call-over will take place to-morrow afternoon.

ASCRAPPY, but exciting rugby match was witnessed on the Club ground yesterday when HMS. Medway beat the Club “A” fifteen by a goal and a try (8 points) to two tries (6) points), the outstanding feature being the excel- lent work of Meeke at the base of the Club scrum.

The game, however, was marred by a serious injury to Supply Petty Officer Watts, who sustained a clean fracture of the shin- bone just above the ankle when he attempted to kick the ball at the same time as an opposing player. He was taken to the Royal Naval Hospital by Mr. W. O'Neill

Both sides commenced short, and the Navy, packing six forwards, held the Club eight until they were reinforced by two other men. It was then that they opened the scoring through Warren, who played a fine game throughout.
