GAME HAS DESIRED EFFECT ON CLUB OFFICIALS AND PLAYERS
(By "Rover")
The local Football world-players, club officials, and spectators will be anxiously scanning the skies to-morrow morning as the weather in its present state is likely seriously to effect the opening of the 1935-6 League which commences with a programme of 17-matches.
The plea by Sir Thomas Southom, who is President of the Football Association, for cleaner sport has had its desired effect, and Club officials have already issued warnings to players and reserves alike to maintain the true spirit of the game, otherwise drastic penalties will be inflicted.
