It's Posture That Counts In The New Beach Suits

House Proud Notion
When your guests open the drawers of their dressing tables to put away their belongings, they are usually confronted by snow-white paper linings.
This may be very clean and ng gienic, but a prettier idea is to line them with sheets of daintily coloured wall-paper which may be renewed as often as necessary-
Many housewives make most at-. tractive coverings for their piles of linen, which, apart from their ap- *pearance. also keep sheets and towels clean.
Each cover is made of chintz or linen, and it is usually square in shape. The pile of linen is placed upon it. cornerwise, and the four corners are lapped over tidily in .lace. When the covers are made of plain linen, they may be bound with another colour, or, a deeper shade of the same colour, with a monogram to match.
Sometimes the corner of the cover is secured by a band of linen which. keeps it neatly in place.

BEAUTY DIARY
ATECKLINES, as very im

portant nowadays. When ́ you hear a woman say that she finds the new necklines "trying" to wear. yon may be sure that she hasn't-preserved the beauty Then, the neck- of her neck. line of the dress draw atten- tion to this fact, and all is lost? "Old-looking Xecke
So it is more important than ever it was to keep our necks young and lovely, because, apart from any consideration of the dress itself uld-looking necks are much more ageing" than line, upon the face. Give your neck regular treat- ment, therefore, and if it is not as pretty as you would like at the moment, I am quite sure that you will see an improvement after a few weeks of special care.
Usually all necks need eleaning and whitening, and then, in addi to some need fattening and fil- ing cut, while others are too plamp alrendy.
Start the treatment at night, by covering the neck with cold gream ard massaging it well into the Skin, smoothing it from the throat to the chia and then from under the chin to the ears. Never draw the fingers downwards, and do not pull the skin, but run your fingers alop the musel gently though firmly. Now, wise of the cream with cleansing tissues, and repeat the massage with more cream and
more tissues.
Some people prefer a cleansing lotion instead of cold cream, and in this event you merely shake a few. drops upon a pad of cotton. - wool and smooth over the neck-with the same upward and outward. move- ment--not forgetting the back of the neck as well as the front.
When the neck is thoroughly elean it is ready for the next part of the treatment, which probably consists of a bleaching or whitening process.
Home-made Bleaches
You may whiten it by means of a bleaching liquid which is dabbed on and left to dry, or with a cream. Usually the lotions show quicker results, but they are all inclined to be drying, therefore the creams are probably the easiest to use, because they whiten, without drying the skin.
There are some excellent bleach- ing creams to be bought nowadays, or you can make quite a good one yourself by taking a pot of cold cream and mixing into it, drop by, drep. about two teaspoonfuls of strained lemon juice, and ten drops of peroxide of hydrogen.
This cream is then smoothed over the neck and left on all night, with perhaps a very light bandage wrap-

Pat Away Double Chins Here, to; there are many makes of feeding cream, some of which sive marvellous results: almond oil is good.
You can also buy a patter at most beauty shops to pat the cream-into the skin, quite vigorously, working again upwards from the throat and outward. This patting will stima- late the Lauscles, for sagging mas- cles are responsible for necks which are wrinkled and thin and also for many double chins....
Double chins should however, her treated a little differentix. The skin food treatment should be given every oftar night; and, on the re- maining nights astringent lotion should be given instead of the Fream. A good home-made astrin- rent consists of equal parts of witch bize and rosewater.
Helpful Exercises
And lastly, exercises benefit all kinds of necks, because they tighten up the muscles. Perhaps the best exercise consists of stretching the chin upwards and craning the neck slowly over one shoulder, and her over the other. Repeat ten ties. To tighten the chin mus eles, stretch the head back, then forward.
