NORONHA FALTERS AFTER MOST PROMISING START

(By "Skip")

WITHOUT being seriously threatened at any time, the Kowloon B.G.C. four skipped by A. M. Holland (P. T. Farrell, R. Duncan and J C. Brown) beat C. G. Silva's Recreio rink (J. E. Noronha, C. E. Marques and F. X. Silva) by 25 shots to 14, to become 1935 Colony Rinks cham- pions, on the Kowloon C.C. green yesterday.

The sudden downpour may have had something to do with the surprising result, for it was never anticipated that either rink would be trounced. On the first head, even before the skips had had time to bowl, rain interfered and the game was postponed for about 20 minutes, during which time the players had tea. After this the game was resumed and concluded without another stop.

The Austin Road rink was easily, the superior force, al- though any luck that was going invariably went to them. The outstanding player was J. C. Brown, Holland's No. 3, who had his opposite number beaten on the most of the heads, although done for some time. F. X. Silva was playing a better game yesterday than he has
