The records were set by Daniel W. Tomlinson, former navy flier, and Joseph E. Bartles, flying a TWA Douglas air- liner for more than 19 hours-

It is believed that the petrol feed system of the two port motors of the aeroplane failed to work properly. At the mo- ment engineers of the Amsterdam Fokker works and of the KLM are testing a new system which they hope will be 100 per cent foolproof.
