INDIA OVERWHELM

DULLA SINGH CARRIED OFF THE FIELD
PLAYER WARNED BY REFEREE
(By" Sticks")
BRILLIANT hockey featured the International
clash between India and Ireland on the Mar- ina ground yesterday when the former over- whelmed the Irishmen by 9 goals to 1 in a clash marred by two regrettable incidents in the second half.
India were a much better combination all round. Although the Irish were aggressive throughout, they lacked any under- standing. In the forward line. They should have scored on more than one occasion, but poor positioning resulted in many open, ings being wasted.
Nolan, the Irish left-winger, was involved in a regrettable in- cident towards the middle of the second half when he slashed Dulla Singh, the India pivot, across the shins, resulting in the Intter being carried off.
A few minutes later Khan Bahadur, the Indian right-back, retrieved the ball, and, approaching Nolan, narrowly missed hit- ting him in the face with a powerful, under-cut shot. Mr. Guest had no alternative but to warn the offender.

STRONGEST FEATURE IS THEIR ATTACK
TWO FIRST DIVISION GAMES ON SUNDAY POSTPONED GAMES BEING PLAYED
(By "ROVER")
The outstanding feature of to-morrow's foot- ball programme is the final of the Lai Wah Cup competition between the Civilians, the holders, and the Army, which takes place on the Kowloon Football Club ground commencing at 4 p.m. There will be no other First Division game featured.
On Sunday, South China "A", the potential League champions, are being entertained by their old rivals the Lincolns at Sookunpoo, and should take both points comfortably, while the Fusiliers are at home to the Navy on the Navy's ground at Causeway Bay.
On Wednesday next, St. Joseph's meet the Police at Kow- loon in their postponed game, of March 10, and the latter' should take both points easily.
The Civilians are a very strong team to-morrow, parti- cularly in the forward line with Ward and A. V. Gosano, probab- ly two of our cleverest football- ers, in support of Howe, while B. Gosano and Bickford will be seen on the right and left wings, res pectively.
